Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a Surgical OT Support Executive (Medical Device) to be the technical expert for the operating team. You will ensure surgical technology performs flawlessly during live procedures and guide the clinical team with precision and calm under pressure.

Your duties include standing with surgeons in the operating theater, training nurses and scrub staff, diagnosing equipment issues on the fly, and ensuring implants and tools are sterile and ready before the first incision.

Qualifications

• Former nurse or allied health professional, or biomedical graduate with interest in surgical workflows.
• Hyper-organized, meticulous, and able to stay calm under pressure.
• Willingness for on-call hours in a busy surgical schedule.

Responsibilities

• Stand with surgeons in the Operating Theater, providing real-time technical guidance on implants, devices, or robotics.
• Educate and train nurses and scrub staff on equipment handling, setup, and troubleshooting.
• Diagnose and resolve equipment issues on the fly without breaking sterile protocol.
• Ensure right implants, instruments, and trial kits are sterile and ready before the first incision.

As a Surgical OT Support Executive, you are the technical expert the surgical team relies on. Your sole focus is ensuring surgical technology performs flawlessly during live, high-stakes procedures. You are the calmest person in the room, guiding the clinical team with precision and expertise.

Key responsibilities

Stand shoulder-to-shoulder with surgeons in the Operating Theater, providing real-time technical guidance on complex implants, medical devices, or robotics

Educate and train nurses, scrub techs, and surgical teams on proper equipment handling, setup, and troubleshooting

Diagnose and resolve equipment issues on the fly without breaking sterile protocol

Ensure the right implants, instruments, and trial kits are sterile and ready before the first incision

About you

Former nurse, allied health professional, or biomedical graduate with a deep fascination for human anatomy and surgical workflows

Hyper-organized, meticulous, and unflappable under extreme pressure

Thrives in a clinical environment and comfortable with unpredictable, on-call hours of a busy surgical schedule
