Private Advertiser in Malaysia seeks an experienced nurse leader to manage the daily operations of the Operating Theatre (OR), CSSD and Ambulatory Daycare in collaboration with the CEO/GM.
You will supervise nursing and support staff, coordinate perioperative care with surgeons and anaesthetists, develop SOPs and infection control practices, monitor equipment and inventory, and drive quality improvement and patient safety.
Manage the daily operations of the Operating Theatre (OR), CSSD and Ambulatory Daycare in collaboration with the CEO/GM.
Ensure safe, efficient and smooth perioperative services and compliance with relevant policies, procedures and standards.
Lead and supervise nursing and support staff, including staff scheduling, work assignments, leave planning and performance management.
Coordinate perioperative care with surgeons, anaesthetists, nurses and other healthcare professionals.
Develop, implement and review SOPs, infection control practices, patient safety measures and documentation.
Oversee CSSD activities, including decontamination, sterilization, storage and handling of instruments and equipment.
Monitor equipment, supplies and inventory, including preventive maintenance and equipment utilization.
Coordinate equipment repairs, trials, evaluations and recommendations for new equipment and supplies.
Conduct staff orientation, training and competency development, and maintain relevant training and certification records.
Monitor and investigate incidents, patient complaints and infection control issues, and recommend corrective actions.
Collect, monitor and analyse departmental data to support quality improvement and patient safety.
Conduct regular environmental and safety audits for OR, CSSD and Ambulatory Daycare.
Ensure adequate communication and coordination with medical, nursing and administrative teams.
Participate in Quality Assurance, Infection Control, Fire & Safety and Disaster Management activities.
Stay updated on current healthcare practices, regulatory requirements and perioperative nursing standards.
Perform any other duties as assigned by Management.
Requirement :
Registered Nurse with a valid Malaysian Nursing Board (LJM) registration and Annual Practising Certificate (APC).
Minimum 5 years of perioperative / Operating Theatre experience, with supervisory or managerial experience preferred.
Must be able to scrub and circulate independently for various surgical procedures.
Strong knowledge of OR, CSSD, infection control and patient safety practices.
Good leadership, communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
Able to manage staff scheduling, manpower planning, training and performance.
Familiar with relevant healthcare standards, policies, SOPs and regulatory requirements.
Good knowledge of surgical instruments, equipment, sterilization and aseptic techniques.
Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to urgent situations.
Willing to work shifts, weekends or extended hours when required.
