Job summary

Pivot Search is engaged to find a senior supply chain and customs leader for a growing Li-Battery manufacturing company based in Selangor. The incumbent will lead import/export operations, customs clearance, and regulatory compliance while coordinating with customs brokers, logistics providers, and internal stakeholders.

You will oversee documentation, duties and taxes, material planning, and inventory control, ensuring alignment with production schedules and sales orders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in SCM, Logistics, or related field.
• 8+ years in supply chain, logistics, procurement, or manufacturing operations.
• Hands-on customs clearance, import/export handling, and material/inventory management.
• Experience in manufacturing plant environments and local Malaysia regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead import/export and customs clearance operations for the company.
• Stay up-to-date with Malaysia Customs regulations and procedures.
• Oversee documentation, declarations, and duties/taxation management.
• Coordinate with Malaysia Customs, brokers, logistics providers, and internal stakeholders.
• Mitigate customs risks and resolve clearance exceptions.
• Manage planning, sourcing, and inventory control for raw materials.
• Align material supply with production schedules and sales orders.
• Monitor inventory levels, safety stock, and aged/obsolete/slow-moving inventory.
• Establish SOPs for customs clearance, material planning, and logistics.
• Lead and develop the supply chain team.

Job description

Lead customs compliance, import/export logistics, material supply, inventory control and supply-chain team. Reporting to: GM.

Key responsibilities

Lead and manage the overall import/export and customs clearance operations for the company

Stay up-to-date with Malaysia Customs regulations, import/export procedures, and statutory regulatory requirements

Oversee all import/export documentation, customs declarations, clearance processes, and duties/taxation management

Liaise and coordinate effectively with Malaysia Customs, customs brokers, logistics providers, and internal stakeholders

Mitigate customs risks and resolve clearing exceptions promptly to ensure strict legal and regulatory compliance

Manage planning, supply sourcing, and inventory control for raw materials and manufacturing components

Align material supply with production schedules and sales orders to ensure timely and precise availability

Monitor inventory levels, safety stock parameters, and aged/obsolete/slow-moving inventory (OSMI)

Manage daily operations, task assignments, and performance of the supply chain team

Establish standard operating procedures (SOPs) for customs clearance, material planning, and logistics

About you

Bachelor's degree or above; majors in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Trade, or Business Administration are preferred

8+ years of experience in supply chain, logistics, procurement, or manufacturing operations

Direct hands-on experience in customs clearance, import/export handling, and material/inventory management

Prior experience in manufacturing plant environments or factory supply chain setups is highly preferred

Deep familiarity with the Malaysian local supply chain ecosystem and import/export business landscape

Profound knowledge of Malaysia Customs acts, import/export policies, and international trade regulations

Strong capability in managing complex customs clearance issues and broker relations

Proficient in material requirement planning (MRP), inventory control logic, warehousing, and logistics

Must be a Malaysian Citizen

Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Chinese and English
