Job summary

Jora Malaysia in Penang is seeking a hands‑on Supervisor, Manufacturing Operations (Assembly) to oversee our assembly lines, lead a skilled team of operators and technicians, and ensure products are shipped on time to meet KPI targets.

In a High‑Mix, Low‑Volume environment you will plan daily production, manage changeovers, and collaborate with Quality, Process Engineering, Maintenance and Supply Chain to contain issues and drive continuous improvements while maintaining ISO 9001/IATF 16949

Qualifications

• Experience in supervising electronics manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily shift operations of the end-to-end assembly process including SMT, Die Attach, Wirebond, Mold, Laser Mark, Plating, Ball Mount and AOI.
• Plan daily production line activities to meet targets and delivery schedules.
• Lead, mentor, and evaluate a team of production operators and technicians; manage headcount and shift scheduling.
• Troubleshoot day-to-day line disruptions and coordinate with Quality, Process Engineering, Maintenance and Supply Chain to implement containment and corrective actions.

Job Description

• Production & Process Management:

  • Oversee daily shift operations of the end-to-end assembly process, including SMT, Die Attach, Wirebond, Mold, Laser Mark, Plating, Ball Mount and AOI.

  • Manage production scheduling and resource allocation to effectively navigate a high-mix, low-volume (HMLV) environment.

• Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of production operators and technicians.

  • Manage headcount planning, shift scheduling, performance evaluations, and skill-matrix cross-training to ensure line flexibility.

• Daily Planning & Execution:

  • Plan daily production line activities to meet targeted output, cycle times, and delivery schedules.

  • Conduct daily tier meetings/stand‑ups to communicate targets, assign tasks, and review previous shift performance.

• Issue Resolution & Cross‑Functional Collaboration:

  • Act as the first line of defense in troubleshooting day‑to‑day line disruptions (equipment downtime, material shortages, quality deviations).

  • Partner closely with Quality, Process Engineering, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams to implement immediate containment and long‑term corrective actions.

• KPI & Performance Tracking:

  • Monitor and drive key manufacturing metrics: Yield, Output, OEE, Cost and On‑Time Delivery (OTD).

  • Ensure strict adherence to 5S, safety protocols, and Quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949).
