Job summary

INTI International University & Colleges is seeking a dedicated counsellor to provide professional counselling sessions for students facing academic, career, and personal concerns. You will promote wellbeing, conduct assessments, and organise development programs to support student growth.

Ideal candidates have a degree or master’s in counselling/psychology, 3–5 years in education, and LKM registration. Proficiency in Mandarin and English is essential for withstanding diverse student needs.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Degree or Master’s degree in Counselling, Psychology, or its equivalent.
• Preferably 3–5 years of related working experience in the education industry, especially with young adults.
• Must be a certified counsellor, registered with Lembaga Kaunselor Malaysia (LKM).

Responsibilities

• Provide professional counselling to assist students with academic, career, and personal concerns.
• Promote counselling and support services to improve students’ emotional health and wellbeing.
• Conduct career and psychological wellbeing assessments where appropriate.
• Plan and conduct student development programs/workshops.
• Prepare reports and maintain confidential counselling records.
• Support in student crisis management when needed.
• Assist in administrative duties for Student Services Department.
• Other duties as directed by Management.

Job description

Provide professional counselling sessions (individual/ group) to assist students with problems and concerns in the areas of academic, career and personal matters.

Promote counselling and support services to improve students’ emotional health and wellbeing.

Conduct career and psychological wellbeing assessment procedures (where appropriate) for the wellbeing of students.

Plan, promote, organize and/or conduct student development programs/workshops on areas relevant to students.

Prepare reports and maintain records of counselling cases, safeguard confidentiality of students’ information.

Support in student crisis management when the need arises.

To assist in administrative duties for Student Services Department.

Other projects or duties as required from time to time as directed by the Management.

REQUIREMENTS :

MUST possess a Degree or Master’s degree in Counselling, Psychology, or its equivalent.

Preferably candidates with minimum 3 - 5 years of related working experience in the education industry, especially those with experience working with young adults.

MUST be a certified counsellor, registered with Lembaga Kaunselor Malaysia (LKM).

Has outstanding communication skills - both written and oral (Mandarin and English). We are seeking candidates proficient in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.

Comfortable in dealing with students from different cultural backgrounds.

Good communication skills and high emotional intelligence abilities.

Excellent planning, observation, communication, interpersonal and time management skills
