Qualifications

• Degree in Civil & Structural Engineering or equivalent.
• Proven track record in structural design and analysis.
• 10+ years post-qualification experience in structural design/engineering.
• Proficiency in SAP2000, STAAD Pro, ETABS, AutoCAD or Esteem.
• Comprehensive knowledge of MS 1228 and relevant standards.
• PE registration with BEM is highly desirable.
• Experience with BIM is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Conduct structural analysis and design calculations using industry-standard software and methodologies.
• Prepare detailed structural drawings, specifications, and technical documentation for construction projects.
• Perform site investigations and assessments of existing structures and ground conditions.
• Collaborate with architects, project managers, and other engineers to ensure design integration.

About the role

Jurutera Budiman Sdn Bhd is seeking an experience and talented Structure Engineer & Designer to join our dynamic engineering team. This is a full-time position based in Damansara Utama, Selangor. As a Structure Engineer & Designer, you will play a crucial role in design and developing innovative structural solutions for our diverse portfolio of projects. You will be responsible for designing safe, efficient, and cost-effective structures whilst ensuring compliance with all relevant building codes and regulations. This position offers the opportunity to work on challenging projects that shape the built environment, requiring both technical expertise and creative problem-solving.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct structural analysis and design calculations using industry-standard software and methodologies
• Prepare detailed structural drawings, specifications, and technical documentation for construction projects
• Perform site investigations and assessments to evaluate existing structures and ground conditions
• Collaborate with architects, project managers, and other engineering professionals to ensure design integration and project success
• Review and verify construction drawings and specifications prepared by junior staff members
• Provide technical support during the construction phase, including site visits and resolution of structural issues
• Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) and advanced modelling for complex structural systems
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant Malaysian building codes, standards, and regulations
• Contribute to project cost estimation and value engineering initiatives
• Maintain detailed project records and documentation for quality assurance purposes

What we're looking for

• Degree in C&S Engineering or equivalent with recognised qualification in Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of post-qualification experience in structural design and engineering
• Strong proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as SAP2000, STAAD Pro, ETABS, AutoCAD or Esteem
• Comprehensive knowledge of Malaysian building codes (MS 1228) and international standards
• Proven experience in designing various structural types including reinforced concrete, steel structures, and composite systems
• Excellent understanding of construction methodologies and site engineering practices
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in team environments
• Valid Professional Engineer (PE) registration with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) is highly desirable
• Experience with Building Information Modelling (BIM) is an advantage
