Job summary

Malayan Flour Mills Berhad (MFM) is seeking a senior procurement professional to plan, manage, and coordinate sourcing activities across materials and supplies for internal stakeholders. You will source, evaluate, and negotiate costs while ensuring quality, compliance with technical specs, and timely delivery.

The role requires robust negotiation and coordination skills and experience with ERP systems such as JDE.

Qualifications

• A degree in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, or related field.
• At least 8 years of experience in purchasing/procurement; manufacturing background preferred.
• Knowledge of import/export processes, customs/SST requirements, and MIDA documentation is an advantage.
• Strong negotiation, coordination, and communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with ERP systems (e.g., JDE) is an added bonus.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks independently.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, and coordinate activities related to sourcing and procurement of materials and supplies.
• Source, evaluate, and negotiate cost of goods and services to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Ensure purchases comply with technical specs, plant requirements, and policies.
• Follow up on purchase orders to ensure timely shipment and delivery.
• Verify and maintain purchasing documents for traceability.
• Manage and update purchasing records; generate periodic reports.
• Prepare monthly purchase reports from the JDE system and assist vendor performance assessment.
• Ensure purchasing processes comply with FSSC standards and participate in audits.
• Coordinate raw material import processes with forwarders and HQ purchasing to avoid delays.
• Oversee office admin tasks including licenses renewal, cleaning, hostel & transport, canteen and office administration.
• Proactive, responsible, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
