Job summary

Hotayi Electronic (M) Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking a Purchasing Assistant to handle day-to-day purchasing, PRs, POs, vendor evaluation, and negotiation to ensure timely material delivery. You will maintain AVL, process invoices and DOs, and generate monthly reports in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Fresh graduates are welcome; 1–2 years in Purchasing/Procurement/Sourcing is a plus. Proficiency in MS Office and strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field.
• Fresh graduates welcome; 1–2 years experience in Purchasing/Procurement/Sourcing is a plus.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently, prioritize tasks, and follow up closely.
• Proactive attitude with willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day purchasing activities, including processing PRs and issuing POs.
• Source and evaluate new vendors based on requirements, pricing, quality, and delivery.
• Negotiate with suppliers on pricing, terms, lead time and other conditions.
• Follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of materials.
• Expedite material deliveries to support production schedules.
• Coordinate with suppliers and internal departments to resolve issues.
• Compile and maintain purchasing documentation including invoices, DOs, and POs.
• Maintain the Approved Vendor List (AVL) and supplier records.
• Ensure purchasing records and documentation are accurate.
• Prepare monthly purchasing reports and related analysis.
• Perform any other duties as instructed by the superior.
