Job summary

IBIDEN Electronics Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an experienced Purchasing Officer for our Bukit Minyak facility in Penang.

You will manage procurement activities to support manufacturing operations, maintain optimal inventory levels, and build strong supplier relationships. The role requires 2–4 years in purchasing within manufacturing, Diploma or Bachelor's in SCM/Business Admin, and strong negotiation and ERP skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in SCM, Business Admin, or related field.
• 2–4 years of purchasing/procurement experience in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes and supplier management.
• Excellent negotiation skills and supplier relationship management.
• Experience with ERP and procurement software; proficient in MS Office.
• Familiarity with ISO quality standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Sourcing and evaluating suppliers for quality and price.
• Prepare and manage purchase orders and contracts.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production/warehouse.
• Process purchase requisitions and prioritise orders.
• Liaise with suppliers on delivery schedules and quality concerns.
• Maintain purchasing records and audit documentation.
• Analyse data and supplier performance to identify cost savings.
• Ensure compliance with procurement regulations and standards.
• Support development and implementation of procurement strategies.
