Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor production machinery per SOPs and safety rules.
• Perform routine maintenance checks to ensure optimal performance.
• Inspect finished products for defects against specs.
• Record production data including output and equipment metrics.
• Collaborate with team to troubleshoot malfunctions and implement fixes.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow regulations.
• Assist with setup and changeovers between product runs.

About the role

We are seeking a Production Technician to join IBIDEN Electronics Malaysia Sdn Bhd in Bukit Minyak, Penang. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in our manufacturing operations, ensuring the efficient and safe production of high-quality electronic components. As a Production Technician, you will be responsible for operating and monitoring production equipment, maintaining quality standards, and contributing to our commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement in the manufacturing sector.

Key responsibilities

Operate and monitor production machinery and equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures and safety protocols

Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance and identify potential issues before they escape

Inspect finished products and components for defects, ensuring all outputs meet quality standards and specifications

Record production data accurately, including output volumes, equipment performance metrics and any anomalies encountered

Collaborate with team members and supervisors to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and implement corrective actions

Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times

Assist in the setup and changeover of production lines when transitioning between different product runs

Participate in training sessions and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance technical skills and operational efficiency

What we're looking for

High school diploma, vocational qualification or equivalent educational background

Proven experience as a machine operator, production technician or similar role within a manufacturing environment

Strong understanding of production processes, equipment operation and basic maintenance procedures

Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify and report quality issues accurately

Sound knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to manufacturing operations

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, work instructions and production specifications

Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment

Physical capability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights and operate machinery safely

Reliability and punctuality with a commitment to meeting production targets and deadlines

Experience with electronic component manufacturing or semiconductor production is highly desirable
