Job summary

Ascendas Engineering Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a purchasing professional to manage materials, equipment and project requirements. You will obtain and negotiate supplier quotations, prepare POs and monitor deliveries across projects.

The role requires 2-3 years in purchasing, preferably in engineering/fabrication, with knowledge of materials and mechanical components considered an advantage. Proficiency in MS Office/Excel and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in purchasing/procurement, business, engineering or related field.
• 2-3 years of purchasing experience, preferably in engineering/fabrication industries.
• Knowledge of engineering materials and mechanical components is an advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office/Excel.
• Strong communication, negotiation and management skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage purchasing of materials, equipment and project requirements.
• Monitor purchasing costs for all projects.
• Obtain, compare and negotiate quotations from suppliers.
• Prepare Purchase Orders (PO) and monitor deliveries.
• Manage services such as fabrication, machining, transportation and equipment rental.
• Coordinate with Project, Engineering, Workshop, Store and Accounts departments.
• Maintain purchasing documents and supplier records.
