Job summary
Celestica Inc. is seeking an experienced NPI Buying Team Leader in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, to lead strategic sourcing for new product development projects.
You will drive supplier selection, cost negotiations, and risk management to meet timelines and budgets, working closely with R&D, engineering, QA, and manufacturing teams. The ideal candidate will have extensive procurement experience in a manufacturing or technology setting, strong negotiation skills, and proven project management abilities.
Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in procurement or buying role, with NPI procurement in manufacturing/tech environment.
- Strong negotiation and supplier management abilities.
- Experience coordinating with R&D, engineering, QA and manufacturing teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead strategic sourcing for NPI projects and manage supplier relationships.
- Plan RFQs and procure materials to meet manufacturing build requirements.
- Collaborate with R&D, engineering, QA and manufacturing to align procurement with project needs.
- Identify supply risks and develop contingencies for NPI projects.
- Negotiate with suppliers to achieve cost savings and reliable delivery.
- Ensure materials availability to support manufacturing builds.
- Monitor procurement processes and resolve delays or issues.
