Job summary

Celestica is seeking an NPI Buying Team Leader based in Malaysia to lead strategic sourcing for new product development. You will negotiate with suppliers, assess risk, and coordinate with R&D, engineering, QA and manufacturing to ensure on-time delivery within budgets.

The role requires deep procurement experience in a fast-paced environment, with strong leadership in managing multiple NPI projects and driving supply chain efficiency to support cutting-edge hardware platforms.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in procurement or buying, with NPI procurement experience
• Experience negotiating with suppliers and managing key supplier relationships
• Knowledge of manufacturing environments, procurement processes, inventory management and engineering change processes

Responsibilities

• Take accountability for all parts in CTB and resolve shortages on NPI projects
• Conduct daily clear to build reviews with planning to share material status
• Plan procurement of materials to meet manufacturing build requirements for NPI projects
• Market research to identify suppliers and evaluate capabilities, cost and delivery
• Identify supply chain risks for NPI projects and develop contingency plans
• Collaborate with R&D, engineering, QA and manufacturing to align procurement strategies
• Participate in design reviews to understand material specs and ECO changes
• Implement strategies to optimize supply chain for NPI projects (lead time, inventory, logistics)
• Manage procurement process for NPI projects and communicate with stakeholders
• Ensure all suppliers follow the shipment approval process
