Job summary

Orkim Ship Management Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced IT Manager to oversee all information technology operations, infrastructure and digital initiatives across the company, aligning technology with business goals and driving efficient IT services for maritime operations.

The role requires strong leadership, governance, and cybersecurity know‑how, with responsibility for budgets, vendor management, and the implementation of strategic IT projects for both shore and fleet environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT or related field; strong leadership experience in IT operations.
• 8+ years in IT infrastructure, systems administration, or IT management with supervisory experience.
• Solid knowledge of servers, networks, security, backups and disaster recovery.
• Experience with ERP or maritime management systems (Bassnet) is an advantage.
• Familiarity with vessel communication systems (VSAT, Inmarsat) is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Lead IT operations for shore offices and fleet.
• Develop and implement IT strategies, policies and infrastructure improvements.
• Oversee IT security, licensing, and backup arrangements to ensure compliance and reliability.
• Manage key business systems including Bassnet and related applications.
• Coordinate IT audits, budgeting, vendor management and project delivery.
