Job summary

The Financial Controller will lead financial management for Malaysia operations in a dynamic multinational chemical & agriculture distribution environment. You will drive timely financial reporting, budgeting, tax compliance, and governance across multiple entities.

With 10–12 years of experience and a strong track record in multi-entity finance and SAP S/4HANA, you will mentor the regional finance team, optimize processes, and support strategic business initiatives in Malaysia and globally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• CPA/ACCA/CMA/ICAEW or equivalent qualification required
• 10–12 years progressive financial experience, 5+ years in a senior role in a multinational or multi-entity environment
• Experience with multi-group financial reporting and managing multiple local and global entities essential
• Strong understanding of tax law, transfer pricing, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance
• Proven track record in M&A, restructuring, and transfer pricing documentation
• Experience managing banking relationships and treasury functions
• Hands-on SAP S4 Hana, strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking and leadership abilities

Responsibilities

• Lead financial reporting across Malaysia entities, ensuring accurate and timely closing
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings for local and global entities
• Ensure group reporting complies with IFRS, local GAAP, and policies
• Coordinate group budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Monitor compliance with group policies and regulatory requirements
• Support due diligence and integration planning for mergers and restructurings
• Provide commercial finance support to pricing, margins, and customer profitability
• Oversee inventory valuation and cost optimization
• Manage cash flow, liquidity, and banking relationships
• Oversee intercompany transactions, billings and reconciliations
• Lead and mentor a regional finance team and drive KPI-based performance
• Drive ERP optimization and process improvements
