Job summary

CTC Global Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking a Technical Engineer for Storage & Data Protection Services. The role focuses on technical support, incident management, preventive maintenance, and hands-on project deployments for VMware environments and storage platforms.

You will work with Windows AD, DNS, DHCP, and Hyper-V, with after-hours support as needed. The ideal candidate has 2–4 years in IT, a Diploma/degree in IT, and certifications in VMware, Veeam, Veritas or Dell storage.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Information Technology or a related field.
• 2 to 4 years of experience in an IT environment, with a strong background in non-UNIX systems.
• Proficiency in configuring and designing infrastructure solutions based on VMware, Microsoft, and storage solutions.
• Expertise in VMware virtualization vSphere and Aria Operations
• Strong knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, routing) and backup solutions (Veritas, Veeam, Dell NetWorker or Commvault).
• Familiarity with SAN storage technologies (Dell, HPE, NetApp or PureStorage) is an added advantage.
• Familiar with Microsoft Windows OS, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Hyper-V.
• Certifications: VMware Certified Professional, HPE (ATP or ASE), Veeam (VMCE), Dell Storage Administration (PowerStore, Unity), Veritas Certified Specialist are preferred. Additional certifications in MCITP, MCTS, MCSE, MCSA certifications or ITIL are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Technical Support and Incident Management: Provide technical assistance to Level 1 Engineers and handle escalations.
• Handle onsite and offsite troubleshooting for non-UNIX system issues.
• Prepare incident and problem management reports with thorough documentation of issues and resolutions.
• Preventive Maintenance and Reporting: Schedule preventive maintenance activities with customers and perform onsite preventive maintenance.
• Generate comprehensive maintenance reports and upload to Field Service Management System.
• Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction with maintenance activities.
• Project Implementation and Management: Handle small-scale project deployments independently, including configuration and testing.
• Assist in large-scale project deployments, ensuring timelines and scope are met.
• Administrative and Team Coordination: Ensure timely updates of installation and maintenance tickets.
• Provide input for project documentation, including design and technical implementation issues.
