Job summary

OCC INDUSTRY SDN BHD, based in Rawang, Selangor, seeks a dedicated Stainless Steel Products QC Inspector to join our quality assurance team on a full-time basis. You will inspect stainless steel products at multiple production stages, perform precise dimensional checks, assess surface quality, and document results to uphold customer specifications.

The role requires a Diploma in QA/QC or related field with 2–3 years’ experience, familiarity with ISO standards, and proficiency in SPC and quality

Qualifications

• Certificate or Diploma in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline
• Proven 2–3 years experience as QC Inspector or Quality Controller
• Proficiency with quality inspection tools and equipment
• Knowledge of ISO standards and customer requirements
• Experience with quality management systems & SPC advantageous

Responsibilities

• Inspect stainless steel products at various production stages

• Evaluate surface quality and detect defects
• Test material properties including hardness and corrosion resistance

Stainless Steel Products QC Inspector (Quality Controller)

OCC INDUSTRY SDN BHD is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Stainless Steel Products QC Inspector (Quality Controller) to join our quality assurance team. This is a full-time position based in Rawang, Selangor. As QC Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring that all stainless steel products meet our stringent quality standards and customer specifications before they leave our facility. Your work will be fundamental to maintaining our reputation for excellence and protecting our customers’ satisfaction and trust in our products.

Key responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive inspections of stainless steel products at various stages of production, including raw materials, work-in-progress and finished goods

Perform dimensional checks and measurements using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometres and gauges to ensure compliance with technical specifications

Examine surface quality, finish and appearance of stainless steel products, identifying defects such as scratches, dents, discolouration or contamination

Test physical and mechanical properties of materials as required, including hardness testing and corrosion resistance evaluations

Document inspection results accurately and maintain detailed quality records using inspection sheets and digital quality management systems

Identify non-conforming products and initiate appropriate corrective actions, including quarantine procedures and rejection documentation

Communicate quality issues to production supervisors and engineering teams to facilitate root cause analysis and process improvements

Perform statistical process control activities to monitor trends and ensure consistent product quality

Participate in quality audits and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing processes

Maintain calibration of inspection equipment and ensure all tools are properly maintained and fit for purpose

What we’re looking for

Certificate or Diploma in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline

Proven experience of at least 2-3 years working as a QC Inspector or Quality Controller, preferably in the stainless steel, metals or manufacturing industry

Proficiency with quality inspection tools and equipment, including precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometres, gauges, hardness testers and surface roughness meters

Strong knowledge of quality standards and specifications relevant to stainless steel products, including ISO standards, material specifications and customer requirements

Experience with quality management systems and data recording practices; familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and root cause analysis methodologies is advantageous

Excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify defects and inconsistencies in products

Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with production teams and management to resolve quality issues

Physical capability to perform manual inspection tasks, including standing for extended periods and handling products of varying sizes and weights
