Job summary

Flextronics - The Flex Company in Prai, Penang is seeking a Staff Industrial Engineer to join our manufacturing team. You will lead a group of engineers and technicians to optimize labor utilization and implement efficient production processes.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field and about 7 years of engineering experience including supervision; a Master's or MBA is preferred. We offer medical/dental/vision, life insurance, PTO and a performance bonus.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience and training.
• Typically requires 7 years of engineering experience including supervision.

Responsibilities

• Manages a team of engineers and technicians to establish work measurement programs and evaluates work samples to develop standards for labor utilization.
• Evaluates staff utilization, facility layout, and operational data to define efficient utilization of workers and equipment.
• Recommends methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities, such as restructuring job duties or workflow and relocation of stations and equipment.
• Develops management control systems to aid in financial planning and cost reviews, and design production planning and control systems.
• Designs or improves systems for the physical distribution of goods and services and defines the most efficient plant locations.
• Collaborates with engineering teams to design manufacturable new products and coordinates activities to ensure product quality.
• Leads initiatives to increase throughput, reduce cost and improve performance in constrained areas.
