Infineon Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is seeking a Staff Engineer for our Research & Development team in Malaysia. The role blends creativity with deep technical know-how to tackle product issues, drive innovations, and shape future technology releases.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in electronics, microelectronics, physics or related field.
Solid knowledge about semiconductor devices and power switches (device physics of silicon, SiC and GaN devices).
Wide BandGap (WBG) know-how is relevant.
First experience with power devices specifications and datasheets (including knowledge about statistics).
First experience in the field of semiconductors is a plus (work or study-related).
Lab experience related to the characterization of semiconductor devices is a plus.
Proven capability of technical problem-solving.
Able to organize the work systematically, and identify and manage technical risks timely.
Excellent communication skills in English and German.

Responsibilities

Apply semiconductor physics knowledge to solve product issues, and explore improvements for future product or technology releases.
Actively contribute to the product innovation process with concepts, demonstrators and technical evaluation.
Collaborate as a technical team member in new wafer technology, package and product projects.
Actively contribute to Product Design & Process DOEs to ensure manufacturability and attractive product performance.
Collaborate with product marketing and application engineering to shape products for business success.
Define the electrical characterization of the developed components, evaluate the results, and discuss within an expert community.
Support the qualification, failure analysis and troubleshooting activities through interpretation of electrical and physical analysis during reliability tests.
Support the product evaluation activities in transfer projects between production sites.
Be an active part of the technical community by sharing know-how and benefiting from the network of experts.
