Job summary

Infineon Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is seeking a Senior Engineer in Product Development to shape the future of power and electronics by merging physics with innovative design. The role blends semiconductor device knowledge with hands-on lab work to resolve issues and drive new technology releases.

You will collaborate across wafer technology, packaging, and product development, while supporting qualification, electrical characterization, and production transfer activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher degree in Electronics, Microelectronics, Physics, or a related field.
• Solid knowledge of semiconductor devices and power switches, including silicon, SiC, and GaN device physics, focusing on WBG technologies.
• Initial semiconductor industry experience via work or academic projects.
• Basic experience with power device specs and datasheets with statistical analysis.
• Demonstrated technical problem-solving capability.
• Laboratory experience, preferably in semiconductor device characterization.
• Excellent English and German communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Apply semiconductor physics to resolve product issues and drive future releases.
• Contribute to product innovation via concept development, demonstrators, evaluations.
• Collaborate in wafer tech, package, and product development projects.
• Support DOEs to ensure manufacturability and optimize performance.
• Work with Product Marketing and Application Engineering to meet business goals.
• Define and execute electrical characterization, analyze results, share findings.
• Support qualification, failure analysis, and troubleshooting using SEM, X-ray, and EMMI.
• Support product evaluation for production transfer across sites.
• Contribute to knowledge community via expert network.
