Job summary

Reap is seeking a Staff Engineer/Tech Lead to advance agentic payments, enabling AI agents to hold payment credentials and execute purchases autonomously. You will integrate with existing cards and payments infrastructure, shape new capabilities, and ship with cross-functional teams.

You’ll thrive in a fast-moving fintech environment, adapt to new domains, and collaborate closely with product, founders, and engineering peers to deliver end-to-end agentic solutions.

Qualifications

• 5-8+ years of professional backend engineering experience.
• Strong API design skills: clean, versioned contracts.
• Experience dropping into unfamiliar codebases and shipping quickly with AI tools.
• Genuine engagement with agentic-commerce space (protocols, card-network programs, or browser-automation tooling).
• Strong product sense: take capability from idea to production without a detailed spec.
• Low ego and high adaptability, collaborative development.
• Clear communication and ability to work autonomously in a fully remote, async team.

Responsibilities

• Design and ship agentic capabilities from enrollment to checkout execution.
• Work across structured agentic-commerce protocols and custom checkout automation.
• Own agentic features end-to-end across team boundaries and production.
• Shape the agentic payments roadmap and turn decisions into shipped infrastructure.
• Collaborate directly with product, founders, and embedding teams.
