Job summary

Coherent Corp. in Ipoh is seeking an SPC Engineer to implement and maintain statistical process control for module testers and monitor process performance.

You will develop SPC tools using JMP, Minitab, Python, and Excel, and work with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements and CAPA actions. 2+ years of related experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience in SPC, manufacturing, test engineering, quality, or data analysis.
• Experience with JMP, Minitab, Python, or Excel preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain SPC systems for module testers and monitor process performance.
• Generate and maintain DV and Master modules for SPC activities.
• Maintain ATC software and SPC webpage, including data processing and monitoring.
• Analyze testing failures, process deviations, defects, and yield losses.
• Develop and maintain SPC tools using JMP, Minitab, Python, and Excel.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams for CAPA actions.
• Maintain SPC procedures, control plans, work instructions, and audit docs.
• Support NPI activities, process validation, and continuous improvement.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for implementing and maintaining SPC systems for module testers and monitoring process performance.
• Generate and maintain DV and Master modules for SPC activities.
• Maintain ATC software and SPC webpage, including data processing and monitoring.
• Analyze testing failures, process deviations, defects, and yield losses.
• Develop and maintain SPC tools using JMP, Minitab, Python, and Excel.
• Work with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintain SPC procedures, control plans, work instructions, and audit documentation.
• Support NPI activities, process validation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure proper tester setup, maintenance, controls, and data integrity.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in SPC, manufacturing, test engineering, quality, or data analysis.
• Experience with JMP, Minitab, Python, or Excel is preferred.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
• Knowledge of SPC, statistical analysis, process control, and data management.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work effectively with cross‑functional teams.
