Job summary

Coherent Corp. is seeking an Equipment Maintenance/Testing professional in Ipoh, Malaysia, to optimize tester operations and reliability across our test floors.

Responsibilities include DV of testers, ergonomic improvements, and driving tester performance enhancements across all products. The ideal candidate has a Diploma in Electrical/Electronics or Computer Engineering with at least 1 year of related experience, plus strong communication and computer skills to support quality and process

Qualifications

• Diploma or higher in Electrical/Electronics, Computer Engineering or relevant field.
• At least 1 year of equipment maintenance/testing experience.
• Good communication and computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Ensure testers operate efficiently to minimize downtime.
• Perform periodic Design Verification (DV) of testers and ensure equipment reliability.
• Improve test setup ergonomics and operational efficiency through elimination, simplification, integration, and automation.
• Support test yield improvement and testability enhancement projects for all products.
• Identify and minimize tester-related over-rejection and improve overall tester performance.
• Monitor tester performance through SPC and ensure compliance with Safety, ESD, Cleanroom, and Housekeeping requirements.

• Perform periodic Design Verification (DV) of testers and ensure equipment reliability.
• Improve test setup ergonomics and operational efficiency through elimination, simplification, integration, and automation.

• Identify and minimize tester-related over-rejection and improve overall tester performance.
• Monitor tester performance through Statistical Process Control (SPC).
• Ensure compliance with Safety, ESD, Cleanroom, and Housekeeping requirements.
• Apply Risk-Based Thinking in the planning and execution of tasks.
• Exercise authority to stop any tester in the event of quality or safety concerns.
• Drive continual improvement initiatives related to tester performance and operations.
• Ensure compliance with ISO requirements, company rules and regulations, and applicable codes and standards.
• Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the immediate superior from time to time.

Job Requirement

Education

Diploma of in Electrical/Electronics, ,Computer Engineering or relevant.

Experience

At least 1 year of Equipment Maintenance/Testing experience. Candidates without appropriate experience may be accepted by the hiring manager subject to job nature, availability of buddy, duration of learning, etc.

Special Skills

• With good computer literacy, good communication skill.
• Experience in testers or equipment configuring and troubleshooting.
• Experience in tester debug or verification.
