Job summary

Coherent Corp. Malaysia is seeking an Electronics/Engineering professional to provide technical support and data analysis on product issues, drive NPI transfers to mass production, and prepare engineering documentation with revision control.

The role includes collaboration with R&D, supporting pilot lines, and leading improvements in cost, yield, quality, and reliability across PCBA and semiconductor testing environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master in Electronics/Electrical/Mechatronics or Physics.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in product, test or product transfers into Production domain with focus on mechanical manufacturing/electronic engineering or materials.
• Experience with PCBA, semiconductor devices, IC fabrication manufacturing environment and product testing is preferred.
• Good knowledge in BOM maintenance, statistical quality tools and problem analysis.
• Able to interpret/read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and data analysis on product issues and improvements (cost and yield).
• Handle new transceiver product transfers from NPI to mass volume production lifecycle.
• Prepare product engineering documentation and changes with revision control.
• Support pilot manufacturing line in assembly, testing and evaluation of new products.
• Collaborate with R&D and participate in design, qualification, and implementation of new test processes.
• Develop and maintain a systematic debug guide for responsible products.
• Acquire hands-on technical knowledge on products and test methodologies.
• Independently complete new product manufacturing process and inspection documentation output.
• Summarize validation schemes for NPIs and form validation baselines.
• Drive re-engineering, cost reduction, yield improvement, quality and reliability.
• Initiate ECOs, BOM changes, test processes, procedures and specs revisions.
• Conduct data analysis on product performance and quality improvements.
• Engage customers, sales, and marketing with qualification cycles.
• Provide technical support and analysis on product issues and RMA.
• Perform other duties as directed by supervisor.
• Derive continual improvement and apply risk-based thinking in planning and execution.
• Ensure compliance to ISO requirements and company regulations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Master/Bachelor’s degree in Electronics/Electrical, Communications, Mechatronics or Applied Science in Physics
• Minimum 3 years’ working experience in product, test or product transfers into Production domain with major in mechanical manufacturing /electronic engineering related or material.
• Candidates without appropriate experience may be accepted by the hiring manager subject to job nature, availability of buddy, duration of learning, etc
• Good knowledge in BOM maintenance, statistical quality tools and problem analysis
• Understand basic test methodologies and able to interpret/read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
• Strong technical knowledge and ability to trouble shoot product and test equipment issues and initiatives to drive performance goals.
• Experience on New Product (NPI) qualifications and transfer is an advantage.
• Experience working in PCBA, Semiconductor devices, IC fabrication manufacturing environment and Product Testing.
