Job summary

Cisco in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Splunk Solutions Engineer to partner with our sales team, customers, and partners, helping redefine how information informs decision-making. This role focuses on technical leadership, compelling demonstrations, and strategic advisory throughout the sales cycle.

You will lead demonstrations, respond to RFIs/RFPs, guide PoCs, and serve as a trusted advisor, traveling to client sites as needed to ensure customer success and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Presales/technical sales experience in a software vendor environment.
• Proven results in technical software vendor sales.
• Skilled in discovery to understand customer goals and challenges, and demonstrating how Splunk solutions address them.
• Proficient in responding to RFIs/RFPs, including positioning Splunk against competition.
• Team-oriented and capable of leading the technology evaluation stage of the sales cycle.
• Hands-on demonstrations and technical leadership across offerings.
• Ability to work independently to identify and mitigate technical issues for assigned accounts.
• Willingness to travel and engage with partners, prospects, and customers in person as needed.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate and promote Splunk products on-site, remotely via webinars, and at field events.
• Act as an expert on Splunk technology and provide feedback to cross-functional teams.
• Synthesize research findings to articulate value and map to customer use cases.
• Develop and deliver impactful presentations linking customer journeys to Splunk's roadmap.
• Build relationships across the sales process as a trusted technical advisor.
• Lead or collaborate as a key technical advisor for customers and teams.
• Handle technical questions and complex challenges regarding Splunk's features and applications.
• Lead PoC/Proof of Value events from setup to final presentation and outcomes.
• Collaborate with marketing to create content and showcase Splunk at events.
