Job summary

Mindcare Therapy Centre in Skudai, Johor is seeking a dedicated Special Needs Teacher for a full-time role. You will design and implement individualised education plans (IEPs) and deliver adapted instruction to students with diverse learning needs.

What you'll be doing

Developing and implementing individualised education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's specific learning needs, abilities and goals

Delivering specialised instruction in core academic subjects adapted to meet diverse learning styles and developmental levels

Assessing student progress through regular observation, testing and evaluation, and adjusting teaching strategies accordingly

Collaborating with parents, guardians, and other educators to ensure consistent support and communication regarding student development

Creating an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that promotes confidence, engagement and emotional wellbeing

Providing one-to-one or small group instruction to support students with learning difficulties, behavioural challenges or physical disabilities

Utilising assistive technology and specialised teaching materials to facilitate learning and accessibility

Monitoring and documenting student behaviour, progress and achievements to inform future planning

Participating in professional development and training to enhance specialist teaching practices

What we're looking for

A recognised qualification or certification in Psychology, Early Childhood, Special Education or a related field

Experience working with children who have diverse learning needs, disabilities or developmental delays

Strong knowledge of special education methodologies, intervention strategies and inclusive teaching practices

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with students, families and colleagues

Patience, empathy and a genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs

Proficiency in developing and implementing individualised education plans (IEPs)

Ability to adapt teaching methods and materials to meet varied learning styles and abilities

Strong organisational and time management skills to manage multiple students and priorities effectively

Familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive learning tools is advantageous

A commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with best practices in special education
