Job summary

Pacific Speech Therapy and Learning Centre is seeking a Special Educational Needs Teacher to join its vibrant, multidisciplinary team in Malaysia. You will plan and deliver small-group or 1:1 teaching, monitor progress, and develop individualized plans to help children meet their goals.

Responsibilities include collaboration with therapists and educators, preparing materials, and participating in parent and department meetings.

Qualifications

• Diploma in related field is required.
• Able to communicate in English.
• Mandarin and Bahasa Malaysia are a plus.
• Self-motivated, patient and passionate.
• Able to work in a team as well as independently.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct teaching activities in small group or 1:1 basis.
• Monitor, assess and record individual students’ learning progress and development.
• Develop Individualized Education Plan (IEP) for students and monitor strategies to meet goals.
• Collaborate with Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Clinical Psychologists, Counsellors to plan activities.
• Prepare teaching materials, progress reports, lesson plans and home learning materials.
• Participate in parents meetings and department meetings.

Job Requirements

Possess at least a diploma in related field

Able to communicate in English

Key Responsibilities

Work with Speech Therapists / Occupational Therapists / Clinical Psychologists / Counsellors to define necessary activities for students in relation to the curriculum.

Preparation of teaching materials/teaching aids, progress report, lesson plan and home learning materials.

Participate in parents meetings and department meetings.
