About the role

PROSPECT RAINBOW SDN BHD is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Educator to join our team in Batu Kawan, Penang. This is a contract position that plays a crucial role in supporting students with diverse learning needs and helping them achieve their full potential. As a Special Needs Educator, you will be instrumental in creating an inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive, regardless of their abilities or challenges. This role is essential to our mission of providing quality, individualised education and support to learners who require additional assistance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver personalised learning plans tailored to meet the individual needs, abilities and learning styles of students with special needs
• Provide one-to-one and small group instruction to support students in core academic subjects and life skills
• Implement evidence-based teaching strategies and interventions to help students overcome learning barriers and challenges
• Monitor student progress and maintain detailed records of academic and behavioural achievements
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents and other professionals to ensure consistent support across all learning environments
• Create and adapt educational materials and resources to make learning accessible and engaging for students with diverse needs
• Support students in developing social, emotional and practical life skills
• Maintain a safe, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and development
• Participate in professional development and training to enhance teaching practices and stay current with best practices in special education

What we’re looking for

• Relevant qualification in Special Education, Teaching, or a related field (such as a diploma or degree in Special Needs Education)
• Strong understanding of inclusive education principles and evidence-based teaching methodologies
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, colleagues and other professionals
• Patience, empathy and a genuine passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and build positive relationships with colleagues
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit individual student needs and learning styles
• Knowledge of current educational policies and guidelines related to special needs education
