Job summary

Cezars Kitchen Sdn Bhd in Iskandar Puteri, Johor, is seeking a qualified Sous Chef to join our kitchen team. You will work with the head chef to prepare daily meals and contribute to menu planning, cost estimates, and profit planning.

We value teamwork, fast-paced adaptability, and a commitment to high standards. Requirements include at least 1 year of kitchen experience and Typhoid and Food Handling Certification; transport is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of kitchen experience in schools, hotels or restaurants.
• Typhoid and Food Handling Certification required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen and stand for long hours.

Responsibilities

• Work with head chef to prepare daily meals.
• Plan menus with head chef and estimate food costs and profits.
• Oversee kitchen operations when Head Chef is not present.
• Familiar with Asian and Western cuisine.
• Familiar with inventory control system.
• Familiar with waste management and cost control.

Cezars Kitchen is seeking qualified Sous Chef to join our kitchen in Iskandar Puteri, Johor.

Essential Functions

Individuals who meet the following expectations will be contacted for an interview:

• Ability to cook a wide range of foods in large batch quantities: International menus.
• Be a qualified cook: (Certificated available upon request).
• Passionate about food!
• Self-motivated and can work with the team
• Minimum of 1 year of working experience in either a) school kitchens, b) hotels or c) restaurants in the current job title.
• All candidates must have Typhoid and Food Handling Certification ready.

Responsibilities

• Work with the head chef to prepare daily meals.
• Plan menus by consulting with head chef, estimate food costs and profits.
• Own transportation to/from work location.
• Ability to stand for several hours at a time in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Ability and willingness to learn new recipes/processes and techniques.
• Integrity to follow company policies and procedures (SOPs).
• Kitchen operations management when Head Chef not present.
• Familiar with Asian & Western Cuisine.
• Familiar with inventory control system.
• Familiar with waste management and cost control system.
• Work with a dynamic team
