Job summary

KMWE Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking an organized technical purchaser to source fabrication parts, CNC components, sheet metal, plastics, and MRO items for diverse projects. You will work closely with Engineering and Production to meet first article inspection requirements and project timelines.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field and 1–3 years of purchasing experience, with strong Excel and negotiation skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Mechatronic Engineering, Supply Chain or equivalent.
• 1–3 years in technical purchasing or sourcing field.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Proficient in Excel and MS Office; strong negotiation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Source suppliers locally and globally for fabrication parts and components.
• Analyze supplier quotations and recommend sourcing strategies based on cost, quality, delivery and service.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms and commercial agreements.
• Monitor deliveries and RFQ completion to meet project timelines.
• Conduct supplier audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain supplier records in ERP and ensure ISO quality compliance.

Job description

Source and evaluate potential suppliers locally and globally for new and existing projects.

Procure fabrication parts, CNC machined components, sheet metal parts, plastics, standard parts, MRO items, and other engineering materials.

Work closely with Engineering and Production teams to fulfill project and First Article Inspection requirements.

Analyze supplier quotations and recommend sourcing strategies based on cost, quality, delivery, and service performance.

Develop and implement long-term sourcing strategies to achieve sustainable cost savings.

Conduct supplier audits, performance evaluations, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and commercial agreements with suppliers.

Monitor purchase deliveries and RFQ completion to ensure project timelines are met.

Manage inventory-related sourcing activities and maintain accurate supplier records in the ERP system.

Ensure suppliers comply with ISO standards and company quality requirements.

Job Requirement

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Supply Chain Management or equivalent; or minimum 1 to 3 years of working experience in technical purchasing field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

Basic understanding of GD&T is an advantage.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.
