Job summary

GetSolar in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Sales Development Representative to be the first point of contact for residential leads and to support the sales team in Malaysia. You will handle inbound calls, answer inquiries, and conduct discovery calls to qualify leads, while assisting with preliminary solar designs and proposal preparation.

This role requires 1–2 years in sales or customer service; no prior solar experience is required, but you should enjoy speaking with people and handling rejections

Qualifications

• Minimum Diploma or higher.
• 1–2 years of experience in sales or customer service, ideally in a phone-based role.
• Fresh graduates with relevant internship experience are welcome to apply.
• Proficient in Google Suite (Google Docs, Slides, Sheets).
• Fluent or proficient in English and Bahasa Melayu; proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is a plus.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable handling challenges and rejections with persistence and patience.
• Organised, able to multi-task, and manage priorities in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Motivated, adaptable, and eager to contribute to a growing team.

Responsibilities

• Field inbound calls and messages from potential customers.
• Conduct discovery and qualification calls to identify top-of-funnel leads.
• Pitch Rent-to-Own solar offers and drive conversions to advisory calls.
• Assist in the preparation of rooftop solar designs and proposals.
• Manage appointment scheduling for sales associates for advisory calls or site surveys.
• Support the sales team with new initiatives to enhance the sales process.
• Handle ad-hoc projects to support the team.
