Job summary

Inter Island Group in Malaysia is seeking an experienced QA Automation Engineer to lead end-to-end test automation efforts, aligning with Mercedes-Benz engineering and quality standards.

You will design and maintain robust test automation frameworks (UI/API), develop test strategies, and collaborate with Product Owners, developers, and stakeholders to ensure comprehensive test coverage and early defect detection.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 5–8 years of QA or automation testing experience.
• Strong experience with automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or Appium).
• Experience in building and maintaining test automation frameworks.
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and SDLC/STLC.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end test automation activities from requirement analysis to deployment, ensuring high-quality software delivery aligned with Mercedes-Benz engineering and quality standards.
• Work closely with Product Owners, developers, and business stakeholders to understand requirements, define test strategies, and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
• Drive and implement scalable automation frameworks, ensuring early defect detection and continuous testing across the development lifecycle.
• Design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks (UI/API), ensuring reusability, scalability, and maintainability.
• Develop and execute automated test scripts for functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous integration and delivery processes.
• Identify, document, and track defects, working closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution and root cause analysis.
• Establish and enforce QA standards, automation best practices, and coding guidelines across projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• Minimum 5-8 years of experience in QA or Automation Testing
• Strong experience with automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or Appium)
• Experience in building and maintaining test automation frameworks
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and SDLC/STLC
• Experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, RestAssured)
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps)
• Strong collaboration and communication skills

Nice-to-Have

• Experience in automotive, e-commerce, or large-scale enterprise platforms
• Exposure to test performance tools (e.g., JMeter, Gatling)
• Knowledge of mobile testing (iOS/Android)
• Basic understanding of frontend/backend architecture
