Job summary

Inter Island Group is seeking an experienced QA Automation Engineer in Malaysia to lead end-to-end test automation. The role involves collaborating with Product Owners and developers to define comprehensive test strategies and deliver high-quality software aligned with Mercedes-Benz standards.

You will design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks (UI/API) and drive continuous testing across the SDLC. Strong collaboration, testing expertise, and experience with CI/CD are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Software Engineering or related field.
• 5–8 years of QA or automation testing experience.
• Experience with automation tools Selenium, Cypress, Playwright or Appium.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end test automation activities from requirement analysis to deployment.

• Lead end‑to‑end test automation activities from requirement analysis to deployment, ensuring high-quality software delivery aligned with Mercedes‑Benz engineering and quality standards.

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Work closely with Product Owners, developers, and business stakeholders to understand requirements, define test strategies, and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
• Drive and implement scalable automation frameworks, ensuring early defect detection and continuous testing across the development lifecycle.

Test Framework Development

• Design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks (UI/API), ensuring reusability, scalability, and maintainability.

Quality Engineering & Systems Thinking

• Ensure testing aligns with end-to-end system architecture, validating integration points, data flows, and overall system stability.

Test Case Design & Execution

• Develop and execute automated test scripts for functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.

CI/CD Integration

• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous integration and delivery processes.
• Identify, document, and track defects, working closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution and root cause analysis.

Test Governance & Best Practices

• Establish and enforce QA standards, automation best practices, and coding guidelines across projects.
• Drive improvements in testing processes, tools, and frameworks to enhance efficiency, coverage, and overall product quality.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• Minimum 5–8 years of experience in QA or Automation Testing
• Strong experience with automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or Appium)
• Experience in building and maintaining test automation frameworks
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and SDLC/STLC
• Experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, RestAssured)
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps)
• Strong collaboration and communication skills

Nice-to-Have

• Experience in automotive, e-commerce, or large-scale enterprise platforms
• Exposure to test performance tools (e.g., JMeter, Gatling)
• Knowledge of mobile testing (iOS/Android)
• Basic understanding of frontend/backend architecture
