Joey Yap Group in Malaysia is seeking a Social Media Executive for the Content Creation Team. This role goes beyond generic social media; you will shape content strategy, audience psychology, storytelling, and attention-driven content to engage the target audience.

You will transform raw ideas into structured, engaging content aligned with brand positioning, collaborating with the Content Creation Team to drive performance.

This is not a generic social media or copywriting role. We are looking for someone who understands content strategy, audience psychology, social media storytelling, and the power of attention.

You should understand that content is not simply about posting consistently. It is about positioning, capturing attention, building influence, and driving engagement.

The ideal candidate can take a raw idea and turn it into structured, engaging, and strategically relevant content that resonates with the target audience.

Key Responsibilities

• Research client industries, competitors, audiences, trends, and emerging content formats.
• Develop creative content ideas, strategic angles, hooks, and storytelling concepts.
• Write scripts, hooks, captions, and content structures for social media platforms.
• Translate business and marketing objectives into engaging social media content.
• Study viral and high-performing content to identify patterns, trends, and opportunities.
• Develop content that is relevant to each platform, including Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
• Apply audience psychology and storytelling principles to improve content retention and engagement.
• Work closely with the Content Creation Team to develop and refine content concepts.
• Review content performance and identify opportunities to improve positioning, storytelling, and engagement.

Job Requirements

• Diploma or equivalent qualification in Marketing, Communications, Media, or a related field.
• Experience in creative background e.g. content writing, social media, digital marketing, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and short-form video content.
• Familiarity with personal branding, creator-style content, and the creator economy.
• Strong research skills with the ability to study industries, audiences, competitors, and content trends.
• Able to identify viral content patterns and understand what makes content engaging.
• Strong understanding of hook writing, audience retention, and short-form video psychology.
• Able to think strategically, not just creatively.
• Familiar with internet culture, social media trends, and evolving content formats.
• Strong written communication skills and attention to detail.
