Norautron Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. in Penang seeks an experienced SMT Technician to develop, maintain, and optimize ASMPT programs for SMT production. You will set up and operate SMT equipment, including screen printers, pick-and-place machines, and reflow ovens, while ensuring accuracy and quality.
You will troubleshoot equipment, perform inspections, document changes, and collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to drive continuous improvement and ISO compliance across the site.
· ASMPT Programming: Develop, maintain, and optimize programs for ASMPT SMT machines to ensure efficient and high-quality production.
· SMT Setup & Operation: Set up and operate SMT equipment, including screen printers, pick-and-place machines, reflow ovens, and inspection systems.
· Barcode Laser Marking Machine Operation: Program and operate barcode laser marking machines to ensure accurate marking on PCBs or components, adhering to customer and industry specifications.
· Process Optimization: Collaborate with the SMT engineering team to optimize production processes, reduce defects, and improve throughput.
· Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Diagnose and resolve issues with SMT and barcode laser marking machines, including mechanical and software problems.
· Quality Assurance: Perform regular inspections and testing to ensure all SMT processes meet quality standards and customer requirements.
· Documentation: Maintain detailed records of machine programs, maintenance activities, and process improvements.
· Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality, and production teams, to achieve manufacturing goals.
· Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities to enhance machine efficiency, reduce downtime, and improve overall production quality.
· Support and adhere to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 systems to ensure quality, environmental, and health and safety compliance.
· Ensure all tasks are conducted in accordance with EHS policies to promote a safe workplace.
· Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
· Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in SMT, with strong expertise in ASMPT programming and handling barcode laser marking machines.
· Technical Skills:
o Proficiency in ASMPT programming.
o Experience with barcode laser marking machine operation and programming.
o Strong understanding of SMT processes, equipment setup, and troubleshooting.
· Education: Diploma or equivalent in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
· Knowledge: Familiarity with IPC standards, SMT components, and PCB assembly processes.
· Problem-Solving Skills: Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for addressing machine and production issues.
· Attention to Detail: High level of precision and attention to detail in programming, machine setup, and quality assurance.
· Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with team members and other departments.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move SMT equipment and components as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Certification in IPC-A-610 or similar SMT/PCB-related standards.
· Experience in continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.
· Knowledge of other SMT-related software and programming languages.
