Job summary

IOT Manufacturing Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced SMT Process Engineer to optimize PCBA processes, drive yield improvements and lead SMT technicians. The role focuses on process control, DFMs, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure product quality and manufacturing efficiency.

The candidate should have a Diploma or higher in Electronics or Electrical Engineering with at least 3 years in PCBA/SMT, MI, and Wave Soldering, and be adept with DOE, SPC and FMEA to reduce defects and support

Job description

We are looking for an experienced SMT Process Engineer with strong knowledge of PCBA processes to drive product yield, process efficiency, and quality improvement. This role will be responsible for optimizing SMT processes, resolving process and product-related issues, supporting new product launches, and leading SMT technicians to achieve efficient processes, high yield, and product quality.

Key responsibilities

Drive product yield and quality improvement activities.

Develop PCBA process work instructions, procedures, and process control plans for products.

Perform Design for Manufacturing (DFM) studies for new products and existing products.

Conduct continuous improvement activities and systemic process analysis to increase process efficiency, product yield, and quality.

Attend to and resolve process- and product-related issues.

Oversee the launch of new products, including the preparation of necessary documentation and coordination with cross-functional teams.

Lead and mentor SMT technicians in achieving efficient SMT processes, high yield, and product quality.

About you

Diploma, Bachelor's degree, or higher in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.

At least 3 years of experience in PCBA processes, with experience in SMT, Manual Insert (MI), and Wave Soldering.

Deep knowledge of electronics assembly lines, machine programming, and quality standards to optimize production and reduce defects.

Knowledgeable in DOE, SPC, and FMEA.

Ability to lead and mentor SMT technicians to achieve efficient SMT processes, high yield, and product quality.

Ability to communicate effectively across departments and with production teams.

Knowledge of NPI Process and Product Transfer will be an added advantage.
