Job summary

Intretech (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an SMT & Process Engineer to develop, optimize, and maintain SMT manufacturing processes to achieve high yield, cost efficiency, and IPC-A-610 compliance.

You will lead cross-functional teams, create SMT/SPI/AOI programs, and drive continuous improvement across the production line. The role focuses on process development, quality/yield optimization, and cost-effective manufacturing while collaborating with multiple departments to deliver high-quality

Qualifications

• 5+ years operational experience with SMT programming and process parameter development.
• Proven problem solver with technical decision making skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office required.
• Excellent oral and written communications skills.
• Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
• Strong electronic & mechanical aptitude is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Utilize offline software to generate SMT, SPI, and AOI programs.
• Create reflow profiles ensuring solder joint integrity within IPC-A-610 standards.
• Program, troubleshoot, and maintain manufacturing process equipment (AOI/SPI).
• Analyze SMT yields and defects to determine failure modes and ensure process capability and throughput.
• Drive zero-defect quality, 100% on-time delivery, and minimal cycle time.
• Design, define, and plan manufacturing processes, specifying and directing installation of new processes.
• Lead and motivate multifunctional teams in a dynamic environment.

SMT & Process Engineer (Open to International Candidates)

Job Summary:
Responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining SMT manufacturing processes to ensure high yield, cost efficiency, and compliance with IPC-A-610 and internal quality standards. This role involves creating SMT/SPI/AOI programs, designing reflow profiles, analyzing defects and yields, performing root-cause investigations, and implementing process improvements to achieve zero-defect quality, on-time delivery, and minimal cycle time. The engineer also leads cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement, reduce downtime, and support new process installations.

Key Responsibilities:

Programming & Process Setup

Utilize offline software to generate SMT, SPI, and AOI programs.

Create reflow profiles ensuring solder joint integrity within internal quality guidelines and IPC-A-610 standards.

Program, troubleshoot, and maintain manufacturing process equipment (AOI/SPI).

Quality & Yield Optimization

Analyze SMT yields and defects to determine failure modes and ensure process capability and throughput.

Drive zero-defect quality, 100% on-time delivery, and minimal cycle time.

Identify and implement process changes to improve yields, reduce costs, improve runtime, and reduce downtime.

Manufacturing Process Development

Design, define, and plan manufacturing processes, specifying and directing the installation of new processes.

Define and recommend equipment, methods, processes, layouts, materials, and manpower changes based on analysis.

Apply ergonomic principles to methods and layouts.

Analyze direct and indirect labor, equipment, and processing costs to ensure economical manufacturing procedures.

Provide input to minimize cost, lead time, and quality risks.

Determine manufacturing costs for new product quotes by estimating standard hours required for operations.

Documentation & Training

Develop method instruction sheets and train supervisors and process specialists on efficient procedures.

Perform root-cause analysis of daily manufacturing issues and implement corrective actions.

Lead and motivate multifunctional teams in a dynamic environment.

Collaborate effectively across departments while maintaining strong interpersonal relationships.

Requirements :

5+ years operational experience with SMT programming and process parameter development.

A proven problem solver with technical decision making skills.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office required.

Must possess excellent oral and written communications skills.

The ability to work in a collaborative team environment is a must.

Strong electronic & mechanical aptitude is beneficial.
