Job summary

KES International Sdn Bhd is seeking an SMT Engineer/Technical Specialist/Technician in Johor Bahru. The candidate should hold a certificate/diploma/degree in engineering, with at least 2 years of related experience and familiarity with IPC-610 workmanship standards for soldering and BGA rework.

The role covers SMT, wave soldering and test processes, daily PCBA rework, BOM checks, tool calibration, and operator training to meet IPC quality requirements.

Qualifications

• Preferably with Certificate / Diploma / Degree in Engineering.
• Min 2 years related experience.
• Familiar with IPC-610 workmanship standards on soldering and BGA rework.
• Good knowledge on SMT, Wave soldering and Test processes.

Responsibilities

• Attend daily PCBA repairing jobs in production and perform rework task based on the priority for shipment.
• Evaluate or analyze the needs of each job, select proper tools or equipment to repair defective PCBA.
• Check BOM of PCBA and raise PR to request component for replacement.
• Rework defective components and achieve the soldering quality based on product/quality specification.
• Support testing wiring for mock-up preparation and verification.
• Carry out daily calibration of repairing tools, including solder iron, hot air blower and etc.
• Perform daily maintenance activity of BGA rework station.
• Train and retrain operators on soldering / rework to achieve desired quality & speed as per IPC requirement
• Train and retrain operators on QC inspection to achieve desired quality & speed
• Any other duties assigned by superior from time to time.
