Job summary

Keppel (Data Centres and Networks Division) in Malaysia seeks a Technical Operation Engineer, DC Operations, to act as the primary contact for customer requests covering M&E works and related tasks. You will prepare scope of work for vendors, align with Sales on client drivers, develop project docs, and lead vendor teams to ensure timely delivery with no downtime.

Strong stakeholder, vendor, and customer engagement skills are essential, as is the ability to work in a fast-paced data-center

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Management, or equivalent field of study required.
• 5+ years’ experience in data center / mission-critical operations.
• Experience in managing customer fit-out works and project delivery in critical environments.
• Financial acumen with demonstrated ability to manage budgets, costs, and profitability.
• Excellent stakeholder management, vendor management, and customer engagement skills.
• A team player with the ability to work alongside subject matter experts to deliver projects on time.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge in M&E systems setup, ability to interpret drawings/schematic diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Point of contact for customer requests covering M&E works and related tasks.
• Prepare scope of work for vendor quotes.
• Work with Sales to understand and define client’s key business drivers and requirements.
• Liaise with clients to develop project documentation, such as Statement of Work and implementation plans.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure effective delivery of projects.
• Lead a group of vendors during implementation to ensure timely deliverables with no downtime.
• Propose technically viable solutions that satisfy client requirements and add value to the proposal.
• Ensure all documents and drawings are in place before handover to Service Operations team.
• Support audit programs related to Tech & Project ops.
• Prepare Change Management documents for major activity and attend CAB meetings.
• Respond to after-hours and unplanned emergencies as required.
• Travel overseas for work as needed.
• Such other duties and responsibilities as may be reasonably requested.

To prepare scope of work for vendor to quote for additional request

Work closely with the Sales team to understand and define client’s key business drivers and requirements

Liaise with clients to develop project documentation, such as Statement of Work and implementation plans

Communicate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure effective delivery of projects

Lead a group of vendors during the implementation phase to ensure deliverables are punctual with no downtime during the course of work

Propose technically viable solutions that satisfies client requirements and add value to the overall proposal

Ensure all documents and drawings are in place before handover to Service Operations team

Support internal and external audit program that is relates to work perform under Tech & Project ops

Prepare Change Management document for major activity and attend Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings

Respond to after-hours and unplanned 'disaster response' emergencies/ contingencies as and when required without prior notice

Perform any additional services needed to meet the requirements of the facility in support of maintenance functions

Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with internal and external clients

Respond to customer service requests in a timely manner

Travel overseas for work / assignment as and when necessary or requested by your immediate supervisor / the head of department

Such other duties and responsibilities as may be reasonably requested by your immediate supervisor / the head of department from time to time.

Job Requirements

Diploma/Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Management, or equivalent field of study required

5+ years’ experience in data center / mission-critical operations, with proven leadership in multi-site and multi-function roles

Experience in managing customer fit-out works and project delivery in critical environments

Financial acumen with demonstrated ability to manage budgets, costs, and profitability

Excellent stakeholder management, vendor management, and customer engagement skills

A team player with the ability to work alongside subject matter experts to deliver projects on time

Able to work in a fast-paced environment

Knowledge in M&E systems setup, ability to interpret drawings/schematic diagrams
