Job Summary

The Site Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating daily construction activities at the project site in Teluk Intan, Perak, ensuring that all works are carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project schedules. The role coordinates site workers, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders while monitoring work progress, materials, workmanship, and site conditions.

Job Specification

1. Site Operations & Supervision

• Supervise and coordinate daily construction activities at the assigned project site.
• Ensure construction works are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and project requirements.
• Monitor the progress of site activities and ensure works are completed according to the project schedule.
• Coordinate daily work assignments for workers, subcontractors, and site personnel.
• Identify and resolve site issues promptly and escalated significant matters to the Project Manager or Site Manager.

2. Subcontractor & Workforce Coordination

• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and site workers to ensure proper execution of works.
• Monitor subcontractor performance, productivity, workmanship, and compliance with project requirements.
• Coordinate manpower, equipment, tools, and materials required for daily site activities.
• Conduct site briefings and communicate work instructions to workers and subcontractors.
• Ensure proper coordination between different trades to minimize delays and work conflicts.

3. Quality Control & Inspection

• Monitor construction workmanship and ensure works comply with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Conduct routine inspections and coordinate inspections with consultants and relevant project personnel.
• Identify defects, non-conformance, and incomplete works and ensure corrective actions are carried out.
• Assist in maintaining proper inspection records, checklists, and quality documentation.
• Ensure materials and construction methods used on site comply with approved requirements.
• Monitor the delivery, storage, handling, and usage of construction materials at site.
• Verify materials delivered against approved requirements and relevant documentation.
• Coordinate with Procurement, Contracts, and subcontractors regarding material requirements and delivery schedules.
• Monitor the use of tools, equipment, and machinery to ensure proper and efficient utilization.
• Report material shortages, damages, or wastage to the relevant personnel.

5. Health, Safety & Site Compliance

• Ensure all site activities comply with occupational safety, health, environmental and Company requirements.
• Monitor workers and subcontractors to ensure appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safe working practices are followed.
• Report unsafe conditions, incidents, hazards, and site safety concerns immediately.
• Support site safety inspections, toolbox meetings, and other safety-related activities.
• Maintain good housekeeping and ensure the site is kept clean, organized, and safe.

6. Site Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain daily site records, including work progress, manpower, materials, equipment, and site activities.
• Prepare daily reports, progress updates, inspection records, and other site documentation as required.
• Record site issues, delays, variations, and other matters affecting project progress.
• Provide regular updates to the Project Manager or Site Manager on work progress and site conditions.
• Assist in preparing information and documentation required for project meetings and progress reporting.

7. Project Coordination

• Coordinate with Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors, Consultants, Architects, Engineers, Contracts, Procurement, and other relevant parties.
• Attend site meetings and provide updates on construction progress and site matters.
• Assist in coordinating inspections, testing, handover activities, and rectification works.
• Coordinate with relevant parties to ensure timely completion of outstanding and defective works.
• Support the Project Manager in achieving project completion within the approved timeline, cost, and quality requirements.

8. Other Duties

• Maintain proper site discipline and ensure compliance with Company policies and project procedures.
• Assist in resolving technical and operational issues within the scope of site supervision.
• Support project handover, defect rectification, and close-out activities when required.
• Perform any other duties and responsibilities as instructed by the Project Manager, Site Manager, or Management.

Requirements & Qualifications

Must Have (Essential):

• Diploma or Certificate in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Building Construction, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in construction site supervision.
• Good knowledge of construction methods, site operations, and building works.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and method statements.
• Good knowledge of site safety and construction quality requirements.
• Strong communication, coordination, problem-solving, and supervisory skills.
• Able to work independently and manage multiple site activities effectively.
• Willing to be based at the project site in Teluk Intan, Perak.

Good to Have:

• Experience in property development, building construction, or high-rise residential/commercial projects.
• Experience supervising subcontractors and construction workers.
• Knowledge of relevant Malaysian construction standards, safety requirements, and statutory regulations.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, or construction/project management systems.
• Possession of relevant construction safety or site supervision certifications.
• Willingness to work extended hours or weekends when required to meet project requirements.
