Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• PE registration or eligibility with the relevant board.
• Solid 2-3 years post-graduation experience in civil/structural engineering.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site surveys and investigations to assess ground conditions and project feasibility.
• Design and develop civil and structural engineering solutions using industry-standard software.
• Prepare detailed drawings, specifications and construction documents.
• Perform calculations and analyses for structural integrity and safety compliance.
• Manage project schedules, budgets and resource allocation.
• Liaise with contractors, consultants and stakeholders throughout project execution.
• Conduct quality inspections and monitoring during construction phases.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations and safety standards.
• Prepare project reports and documentation.
• Support tender processes and provide technical input for proposals.

About the role

SPRING POWER SDN BHD is seeking a Civil Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis in Bintulu, Sarawak. This is a pivotal position within our engineering operations, where you will play a crucial role in the design, planning and execution of civil and structural engineering projects. As a Civil Engineer, you will contribute to the strategic development and delivery of infrastructure projects that support our business objectives and demonstrate your technical expertise in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

What you'll be doing

• Conduct site surveys and investigations to assess ground conditions and project feasibility
• Design and develop civil and structural engineering solutions using industry-standard software and methodologies
• Prepare detailed technical drawings, specifications and construction documents
• Perform calculations and analyses for structural integrity and safety compliance
• Manage project schedules, budgets and resource allocation
• Liaise with contractors, consultants and stakeholders throughout project execution
• Conduct quality inspections and monitoring during construction phases
• Ensure all works comply with relevant building codes, regulations and safety standards
• Prepare comprehensive project reports and documentation
• Support tender processes and provide technical input for project proposals

What we’re looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field from a recognised institution
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration or eligibility for registration with the relevant engineering board
• Minimum 2-3 years of post-graduation experience in civil or structural engineering
• Strong proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SAP2000, ETABS or similar programmes
• Solid understanding of building codes, construction standards and regulatory requirements applicable in Malaysia
• Proven experience in site supervision and construction management
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities for effective collaboration
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise workload efficiently
• Knowledge of health, safety and environmental (HSE) practices in construction
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and project management tools
• Willingness to undertake training and professional development opportunities
