Job summary

Grand Built Construction Company in Shah Alam, Selangor, is seeking a Civil/Structural Site Engineer to supervise and coordinate all on-site construction activities, ensuring works follow approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and project schedules.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related field and has 3–5 years’ relevant experience, with strong communication, planning, and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant Civil & Structural construction experience.
• Good knowledge of construction methodologies, structural works, and engineering practices.
• Ability to read, interpret, and coordinate construction drawings and specs.
• Familiarity with local regulations, standards, and authority requirements.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all Civil & Structural construction activities on site.
• Ensure works follow approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and project schedules.
• Prepare method statements, construction methodologies, shop drawings, materials, samples; submit for consultant review.
• Monitor site progress and ensure project milestones are achieved on time.
• Conduct regular site inspections for quality and compliance.
• Coordinate with consultants, clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and authorities on technical matters.
• Review and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
• Resolve technical issues and provide engineering solutions on site.
• Ensure QC procedures, inspection requirements, material usage, workmanship and productivity.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly site progress reports.
• Attend site meetings and provide updates on status and resources.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and statutory requirements.
• Assist in planning manpower, equipment, and material resources.
• Verify completed works for progress claims and handover requirements.
• Coordinate testing, inspections, and commissioning of Civil & Structural works.
• Identify project risks and suggest corrective actions to minimise delays and costs.
• Knowledge of CONQUAS, QLASSIC, CIDB, Malaysian standards and 5S is an advantage.

Job Requirements

• Good knowledge of construction methodologies, structural works, and engineering practices.
• Ability to write a method statement and update of the work progress.
• Ability to read, interpret, and coordinate Construction drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with local regulations, construction standards, and authority requirements.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or equivalent} will be an added advantage.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project coordination skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Possession of a valid driving licence is preferred.
