Job summary

Hongrita Precision Component (M) Sdn Bhd in Penang seeks an experienced Shipping Manager to plan, organize, and coordinate all import/export freight activities, including documentation and schedules. You will oversee day-to-day operations for import, export, customs clearance, and stock receipt/delivery, ensuring SOPs are updated and compliant.

Qualifications

• Minimum S.P.M.; Diploma in Logistics or Supply Chain is an added advantage.
• At least 3 years of logistics/shipping management or relevant experience.
• Knowledge of Forwarding process shipping system and operations.
• Experience handling LMW reports and interaction with Customs.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and documentation procedures.
• Good interpersonal, communication and reporting skills.
• Commercial and financial awareness with understanding of impact on costs, suppliers and orders.
• Strong analytical, planning and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and coordinate all shipping activities including documentation and schedules.
• Ensure import/export freight management is efficient to meet customer requirements.
• Follow up on shipping tasks, control freight costs, and keep documents updated.
• Coordinate with departments to ensure shipping docs and import/export arrangements are in order.
• Oversee day-to-day shipping operations including import/export, customs clearance, and stock receipt/delivery.
• Maintain SOPs and ensure regulatory compliance with government requirements.
• Obtain freight costs from forwarders and monitor shipment schedules for timely delivery.
• Prepare documents for export and manage trade agreements (e.g., Form D, E) for relevant countries.
