Job summary

HCE ENERGY SDN BHD in Johor is seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Programmer Technician for a full-time production role. You will interpret drawings, perform unfolding and nesting, and manage offline programming to support sheet metal fabrication for energy equipment products.

You will optimise processes, ensure dimensional accuracy, handle version control of programs, and contribute to quality control and continuous improvement within the manufacturing team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years hands-on experience in sheet metal laser cutting and CNC punching programming.
• Able to read sheet metal drawings and perform unfolding and nesting.
• Familiar with sheet metal programming software including AutoCAD, Lantek, Metalix and SigmaNEST.
• Capable of bending coefficient calibration and laser cutting parameter optimisation.
• Able to independently complete offline programming, debugging and version control.

Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings, perform unfolding, laser cutting and CNC punching offline programming and optimise nesting.
• Debug machines, adjust parameters and perform first article inspection for dimensional accuracy.
• Manage program filing, backups and version control; support new product sampling and mass production.
• Monitor production issues and continuously optimise processes; reduce material loss and scrap.
• Follow production standards and support team targets.

Job description

We are recruiting an experienced Sheet Metal Programmer Technician for our factory in Johor. This is a full-time production technical position responsible for sheet metal drawing interpretation, unfolding, nesting, offline programming, parameter optimisation and production quality control to support sheet metal fabrication for electrical switchgear and energy equipment products.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform sheet metal drawing interpretation, unfolding, laser cutting and CNC punching offline programming, and optimise material nesting layout according to technical drawings.
• Conduct machine debugging, parameter compensation and first article inspection to ensure product dimensional accuracy complies with drawing specifications.
• Manage program filing, backup and version control, prepare process documents, and support new product sampling, order revision and mass production arrangements.
• Monitor and resolve production abnormalities, continuously optimise manufacturing processes, improve material utilisation rate and reduce production scrap rate.

Job Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on working experience in sheet metal laser cutting and CNC punching programming and operation.
• Proficient in reading sheet metal engineering drawings, skilled in drawing splitting, unfolding and material nesting layout.
• Familiar with sheet metal programming software including AutoCAD, Lantek, Metalix and SigmaNEST; capable of bending coefficient calibration and laser cutting parameter optimisation.
• Prior experience operating mainstream equipment is highly preferred.
• Able to independently complete offline programming, trial cutting debugging, first article confirmation and program version management; capable of solving dimensional tolerance, springback and deformation issues during production.
• Familiar with processing characteristics of stainless steel, aluminium plate, galvanised steel and other sheet metal materials.
• Strong awareness of quality control, able to effectively reduce material loss and production scrap rate.
• Responsible working attitude, able to follow production standards and support team production targets.
