Job summary

Metalwerks Sdn. Bhd. in Malaysia is seeking a Bending Machine Operator to join our production team. You will set up, operate, and adjust CNC or manual bending machines to form sheet metal parts per drawings and job orders.

The role requires reading technical drawings, selecting appropriate tooling, and measuring parts with calipers and protractors to ensure tight tolerances. Shift work and safety discipline are essential.

Qualifications

• SPM / vocational certificate or equivalent; formal training in machine operation is a plus but not mandatory.
• Prior experience operating bending machines or press brakes in a sheet metal or metal fabrication environment preferred.
• Ability to read technical drawings and basic measurements.
• Comfortable using precision measuring tools (calipers, protractors, etc.).
• Physically fit and able to work on your feet, lift moderate loads, and work in a factory environment.
• Willingness to work shifts/overtime as needed based on production demand.
• Good attention to detail, discipline, and a strong safety mindset.
• Basic communication in Malay and/or English.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC or manual press brake/bending machines according to job specifications and drawings.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, work orders, and bending sequences.
• Select and install correct tooling (dies and punches) for each job.
• Measure and inspect bent parts using calipers, protractors, and angle gauges to ensure accuracy and tolerance compliance.
• Adjust machine settings to correct defects such as spring-back, wrong angles, or dimensional errors.
• Perform basic machine maintenance and cleaning, and report faults or malfunctions promptly.
• Follow safety procedures and wear proper PPE at all times.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in line with 5S practices.
• Record production output and quality checks as required.

The Role
