Job summary

Reeracoen Malaysia in Penang is seeking a Laser Cutting Supervisor to lead and develop the laser cutting team on the production floor. You will oversee machine setup, loading/unloading metal sheets, and adherence to drawings, tolerances, and safety standards, while driving productivity and waste reduction.

Applicants should have a minimum of 3 years operating laser cutting machines, proven leadership, and the ability to interpret engineering drawings.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience operating laser cutting machines.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Experience in leadership or supervision on the shop floor.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC laser cutting machines according to drawings and specs.
• Train and coach Laser Cutting Operators on setup, parameters, and safety.
• Monitor production, ensure quality, and report abnormalities.
• Maintain production records and improve procedures.
• Follow 6S and company safety procedures.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Operate CNC laser cutting machines to cut sheet metal according to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Load and unload raw materials (metal sheets) onto the laser cutting machine.
• Set up machine parameters such as cutting speed, power, and focus according to material type and thickness.
• Monitor machine operations to ensure smooth production and prevent defects.
• Ensure cutting accuracy and product quality meet customer specifications.
• Inspect finished parts using measuring tools (vernier caliper, ruler, etc.).
• Identify cutting defects and report abnormalities to the supervisor.
• Maintain production records and job documentation.
• Perform basic machine setup before production.
• Train and coach Laser Cutting Operators on machine operation, setup procedures, cutting parameters, drawing interpretation, quality requirements, and safe working practices.
• Provide hands-on technical guidance and on-the-job training to new and existing operators and assess their competency before independent operation.
• Develop and improve work instructions, operating procedures, and training materials for laser cutting processes.
• Conduct routine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance of the laser machine.
• Report machine malfunctions or maintenance issues.
• Follow company safety procedures and wear required PPE.
• Maintain a clean and organized working area according to 6S standards.
• Ensure proper handling and storage of materials.
• Support production improvement activities to enhance productivity and reduce material wastage.
• Follow standard operating procedures (SOP) and work instructions.

Required Experience

• Minimum 3 years experience operating laser cutting machines.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
• Must have leadership or supervisory experience
• Precision sheet metal, machining, or fabrication industries.
• Familiar with measuring tools such as vernier caliper.
• Able to work in a manufacturing / production environment.
• Good discipline, teamwork, and attention to detail.
