Midea Building Technology (MBT) in Penang is seeking a Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain equipment at customer sites. You will perform installations, troubleshooting, and repairs with a focus on safety and quality.
The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, relevant certifications or an associate’s degree, strong mechanical/electrical/HVAC knowledge, and excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Travel to sites is required and teamwork is essential.
The Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of equipment or systems in a timely and efficient manner. This role requires a strong technical background, attention to detail, and the ability to provide exceptional customer service.
Key responsibilities
Perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of equipment or systems at customer sites.
Identify issues through diagnostic tests, provide accurate solutions, and repair or replace defective parts.
Communicate with customers to explain issues, repairs, and maintenance procedures in a clear and professional manner.
Ensure all repairs are performed in accordance with safety standards and company policies.
Maintain accurate records of service performed, parts used, and hours worked.
Provide on-site customer support and act as a point of contact for technical issues.
Follow up with customers to ensure their satisfaction and to resolve any outstanding concerns.
Keep up to date with new product offerings, industry trends, and technological advancements.
Adhere to all company safety guidelines and work regulations.
Work collaboratively with other technicians and teams to ensure high-quality service delivery.
About you
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or an associate's degree in a relevant field (e.g., electrical, mechanical) preferred.
Proven experience as a Service Technician or in a similar technical role.
Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, or HVAC systems.
Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to customer sites as required.
Knowledge of safety standards and best practices in the industry.
