Job summary

LIAN HONG BYD Sdn Bhd seeks a Service Department Manager to lead daily operations, supervise advisors and technicians, and ensure timely vehicle servicing and repair quality in a busy workshop. The ideal candidate will have a diploma or degree in automotive engineering or mechanical engineering, plus 2+ years in automotive service with supervisory experience, and strong leadership

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years in automotive service industry, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, and service procedures.
• Excellent leadership and people management skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills; customer-focused.
• Ability to manage workshop operations efficiently.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and service management systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage daily operations of the service department to ensure smooth workflow.
• Supervise and guide service advisors, technicians, and support staff to achieve departmental targets.
• Ensure timely and quality completion of vehicle servicing and repairs.
• Maintain strong relationships with customers by ensuring excellent service and handling complaints effectively.
• Monitor KPI such as service revenue, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
• Develop and implement service process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
• Coordinate with parts, sales, and warranty departments to ensure seamless operations.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies at all times.
• Prepare regular reports and budgets for management review.
