Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in automotive service management or a similar supervisory role within the automotive trades industry
• Strong knowledge of automotive service procedures, diagnostic techniques, and vehicle maintenance best practices
• Proven leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop technical staff
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients
• Proficiency in service management software and computer systems
• Strong organisational and time-management abilities with capability to handle multiple priorities effectively
• Sound understanding of financial management, budgeting, and cost control within a service department
• Problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure
• Communication skills, both written and verbal, with fluency in English and Malay preferred
• Relevant qualifications in automotive service management or mechanical studies would be advantageous

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all service department operations, ensuring efficient workflows and optimal resource allocation
• Supervise and mentor service technicians and support staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development
• Schedule service appointments and manage customer bookings to maximise department efficiency and minimise downtime
• Manage service invoicing, billing processes, and ensure accurate record-keeping of all service transactions
• Monitor quality standards and ensure all work meets company specifications and customer expectations
• Maintain inventory levels of spare parts and materials, liaising with suppliers to ensure adequate stock availability
• Investigate and resolve customer complaints and service issues promptly and professionally
• Track and analyse service department performance metrics, including revenue, costs, and customer satisfaction
• Develop and implement service strategies to improve profitability and operational efficiency
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations within the service facility
• Liaise with customers, providing updates on vehicle service progress and maintenance recommendations
