Job summary

Scicom MSC Berhad is seeking an experienced Monitoring & O&M specialist to manage the full lifecycle of private monitoring platforms. The role requires configuring and tuning Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana and ELK clusters, and proactively troubleshooting system faults.

Candidates should have 5+ years in monitoring, strong scripting skills (Shell, Python), and fluency in Chinese for daily communication and documentation.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage lifecycle maintenance of large-scale private monitoring platforms.
• Configure, tune and operate Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana and ELK clusters.
• Troubleshoot faults, metric interruptions and log anomalies with PromQL skills.
• Monitor Linux, Kubernetes, MySQL, Oracle, Redis, Kafka and Flink environments.
• Oversee ETL/CDC tasks and cross-system data reconciliation.

Job description

The Position: This role is dedicated to the full lifecycle maintenance of large-scale private monitoring platforms. The successful candidate will ensure the stability and accuracy of monitoring clusters while executing comprehensive business and database monitoring. This position requires a proactive problem-solver who can leverage scripting and automation to maintain system health and troubleshoot complex anomalies.

The Responsibilities of the Role

• Manage the full lifecycle maintenance of large-scale private monitoring platforms, balancing monitoring cluster self-operation with business/database monitoring.
• Independently operate, configure, and tune Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK clusters.
• Troubleshoot monitoring system faults, including metric interruptions, log loss, and cluster abnormalities, utilizing strong PromQL skills.
• Perform core daily monitoring, risk identification, and anomaly handling across Linux, Kubernetes, MySQL, Oracle, Redis, Kafka, and Flink environments.
• Monitor ETL/CDC tasks and execute cross-system multi-source data reconciliation.
• Write and deploy automation tools using Shell and Python to independently resolve monitoring and business anomalies.

The Requirement for the Role

Must Have:

• Minimum 5 years of monitoring O&M experience.
• Proficiency in monitoring tech stacks (Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK) and strong Shell/Python scripting capabilities.
• Fluent in Chinese (Listening, Speaking, Reading & Writing) for daily communication and documentation.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with using AI tools to assist O&M work (intelligent fault analysis, log anomaly identification, script generation, and efficiency optimization).
• Experience with big data link monitoring and alert governance for large-scale clusters.
• Previous experience handling monitoring system upgrades, migrations, and docking with internal tool systems.
